The Jersey Farm Country Hotel ***Situated on the outskirts of picturesque Barnard Castle, this former working farm, with animals still in the fields, has been turned into a contemporary, unique and quirky hotel. Delicious lunches, light snacks, and of course the most important meal of the day, breakfast are served in the hotel. The staff encourage you to sample the freshly-prepared Farmers breakfast (included in the price). All meals are served in the restaurant and booking is advisable bur not essential. Children are welcome at all times, however the hotel sincerely hopes that parents will take responsibility. While there is no dress code, the hotel kindly request that you dress thoughtfully. On special holiday days it is advisable to check what menus are available. Party bookings are available and the hotel will try, where possible, to seat the party together. Private rooms are available for small celebrations. Champagne can be pre-ordered, as can wine and birthday cakes can be made. The bar has luxurious sofas an interesting twist on a log fire, giant plasma fish tank, areas to huddle up in and of course, like the rest of Jersey Farm, is non-smoking From the bar you will find on draught, John Smiths Smooth, Theakstons Best, Guinness, Woodpecker, Fosters and Kronenbourg 1664 lager. There is also a large selection of soft drinks, many fine malts, liqueurs, sherry, port, and a comprehensive wine list with many being sold by the glass. Through the bar you will find the conservatory complete with funky pool table and plasma TV a place to maybe enjoy a Costa coffee or stroll out onto the patio, terrace and gardens.
