At The Blue Pigeons Inn the restaurant aims for a very high standard, using only the freshest and finest produce from the local area. All meat products used in the kitchen are prime cuts and are either from England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland and not from outside the British Isles. Fresh free range eggs are also used. The Blue Pigeons inn strives to give guests a warm and friendly welcome and attempts to accommodate your needs as far as possible. There are different types of menu on offer, including an à la carte menu, bar menu alternatives and various specials. The bar menu offers traditional pub grub, with all the old favourites such as homemade steak pie to whole tail scampi. All of the meals are homemade, freshly prepared and cooked on site by the inn`s own chefs and cooks. The à la carte menu aims to blend the modern and the classics together, whilst still keeping the old favourites such as garlic mushrooms and the new idea of signature dishes. The village of Worth developed in the 16th century, when the castles of Sandown, Deal and Walmer were built. The Downs became an anchorage comparatively safe from marauders, and more settled conditions came to this part of the coastline. Trade naturally followed and this period saw the beginning of the red brick style of building, of which there are still a few pleasing examples in the village today. The local church, however, shows traces of Norman (12th century) work. Today, much of the land on the seaward side is part of the famous Prince`s and Royal St George`s golf courses. The Blue Pigeons Inn stands directly opposite the village church, whilst also overlooking the village duck pond. It is ideally positioned for other delightful local attractions including the Sandwich, Deal, and Dover High Street’s and shops.
