Castle Apartments ***Apartments on or within 250 metres of the world famous Royal Mile - run on a hotel basis with minimum one night stay. The Castle Apartments is your home away from home in the heart of historical Edinburgh. The Royal Mile is the backbone of the Edinburgh?s charming and romantic Old Town, running from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House. Your Castle Apartment is designed with your comfort in mind. Fantastic beds, bath and powerful shower, fully equipped kitchen and lounge with TV and DVD player (with complimentary access to our DVD Library) will ensure you enjoy a truly memorable break in this most wonderful of cities. First and second children with 2 adults under 12 are free of charge. Please make sure that you inform us in an advance that you will take your children and we will arrange extra bed in apartment. All guests receive a welcome pack consisting of cereal, milk, tea and coffee on arrival. Each apartment are fitted with a fully equiped kitchen. At least 72 hours before the day of arrival, otherwise the amount of the first night will be invoiced. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. This fantastic facility, which has recently been refurbished, is ideally located right in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre; 550 meters from Edinburgh Bus Station, and 800 meters from Waverly Train Station. Directions From Edinburgh Airport to Queen Street: Exit Edinburgh Airport Exit on to East Field Road ? follow signs for the City Centre/Edinburgh Zoo. Go through Eastfield Road and turn left onto the A8. Enter into Edinburgh carrying on Glasgow Road (A8). Go through the Drumbrae Roundabout and onto Saint John`s Road (A8). This will become Corstorphine Road (A8). Turn right on the Roseburn Terrace (A8). Carry onto West Coates, which becomes Haymarket Terrace (A8). Turn left into Haymarket (A8) and carry on West Maitland Street. This becomes Shandwick Place (A8) which becomes Princes Street. Turn left onto South Charlotte Street (A90) which becomes Charlotte Square and then North Charlotte Street. Turn right onto Albyn Place, and turn left into Queen Street. Airlink Bus 5 GBP (return) The Airport bus departs every 15 minutes. Guests must disembark at the Waverly Bridge terminus (opposite Waverly Station). Reception and key collection is approx. 7 -10 minute walk from here. The Royal Mile is the popular name for the succession of streets which form the main thoroughfare of Edinburgh`s Old Town. As the name suggests, it was equivalent to a Scottish mile between the two foci of royal history in Scotland, from Edinburgh Castle at the top of the castle rock down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Along the way, the actual name of the street changes from Castle Esplanade to Castlehill, to Lawnmarket, to High Street, to Canongate, and finally to Abbey Strand. The street runs along a narrow ridge trailing down gently from the crag of castle rock, with steep closes (alleyways) running down between the lands (tenement houses) at each side. The Royal Mile is Edinburgh`s busiest tourist street, rivalled only by Princes Street in the New Town. We have two additional discounted ROOMS on the top floor. They are for two people only and have a comfortable room, bathroom. All linen and towels are provided, and all guests receive a welcome pack consisting of cereal, milk, tea and coffee. All our apartments are strictly NON-SMOKING and due to central location there can be noise. Guests can expect comfortable apartments in a fabulous historic setting. Please note that our apartments are located in historical buildings, and that there is no lift. Due to the layout of the city, guests may be required to climb a number of steps to reach their accommodation Guests who have mobility problems are kindly asked to inform us of this when booking Our Concierge Team are on hand to ensure you get the most out of your stay. We can book you onto tours of Scotland, organise car hire, as well as giving some local insight of where to go and what to do. Guests can take advantage of discounts at top local restaurants and can enjoy daily access to one of the cities finest gyms. Extras: Internet, telephone, fax and safe are all available at our central office (may incur additional charge).
