Cambridge House Guest House ****Situated in the centre of Windermere, in the heart of the English Lake District, this small, friendly and family-owned guest house is built in the traditional Lakeland style. We take pride in our warm, friendly atmosphere and extra tasty home-cooked breakfasts, whether full English, vegetarian or even a lighter alternative - our aim is to give guests that `home from home` feel. Enjoying a village centre location Cambridge House offers the ideal accommodation for your Lake District holiday. Only a minute from the numerous shops, restaurants and pubs of Windermere; a mere 5 minute walk from the railway and coach station; and only a pleasant 15 minute stroll to the beautiful Lake Windermere. Although Cambridge House does not have a car park, parking is available on the road. Cancellation Policy: Please note, if cancelled or in case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children older than 5 years are welcome. Extra beds are not available. One child under 14 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding. Baby cots are not available. Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 2. Deposit Policy: The total price of the reservation will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free Public parking is possible at a location nearby. Pets: Pets are allowed on request. Charges may be applicable. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. Cambridge House will make a 2% charge on all credit card payments. Other Information: Please provide an accurate arrival time when booking, and advise as soon as possible if this changes. Cambridge House cannot guarantee anyone to be at the property on arrival if an inaccurate arrival time is given. By car: Take M6 junction 36 and follow the signs for Kendal then Windermere. At Windermere turn left (signposted Town Centre) and follow the one-way system through the town. Oak Street is the second left turn after the Post Office off this road. By rail: Turn left from the station to the Tourist Information Centre and keep left passing the Elleray Hotel, the Queen`s Hotel and Barclays Bank. Oak Street is the second left turn just after the Post Office. By Coach: National Express coaches stop at the Tourist Information Centre. Total number of rooms: 6 |

Please note that guests staying for 2 nights or more receive free unlimited use of Parklands Country Club: the leisure facilities indicated as available are at Parklands, with windsurfing and other water-sports available at the lake. Although Cambridge House is in a town centre location, 5-minutes in either direction bring you to heart-stopping beauty and breathtaking views. Though the guest house does not have a car park, parking permits for safe on-road parking can be provided (subject to availability).
