De Granaetappel Suites [Apartments]This by Michelin recommended hotel is situated in the Hoogstraat, a picturesque pedestrian street, close to the Market and the Groenplaats, this apartment hotel offers comfortable suites in a 15th century building. The owner, Georgette Timmermans, offers 3 comfortable apartments, suitable for both business and leisure travellers, 2 of which have a private terrace. Within easy walking distance of the hotel you will find most of the historical monuments and museums Antwerp is famous for. Very profitable promotion! During July and August you can stay in a Luxury Suite with a Whirlpool for 4 nights for a very low price if you arrive on a Monday! A restaurant-bar is located on the hotel`s ground floor and is open for breakfast and lunch (open 10:00 - 17:00, Tuesday - Saturday). It can also be reserved for an evening dinner for group functions (up to 18 diners). Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All older children or adults are charged EUR 50.00 per night and person for extra beds. Baby cots are not available. Lines 2, 5, 15 (all towards `Linkeroever`) or 3 (towards `Zwijndrecht`) all stop here. - Proceed on foot along Reyndersstraat, heading towards the river. - Just after the Jordaenshuis Theatre, turn right onto Hoogstraat. - The hotel will be on your left. By air: - Train run regularly from Antwerp Airport to Antwerp Berchem station. - From here, catch a train to Antwerp Central Station. - Follow directions outlined above under `By train`. By car: - Head towards Gent and take exit 5a (`Antwerp South Centrum`) - At the end of exit (on your left will be the Palace of Justice with flags on its roof) turn left. - Continue to the end of the road and turn right onto De Gerlachekaai / Cockerillkaai - At 4th traffic light turn right onto Suikerrui-Oude Koornmarkt - Hoogstraat (where the hotel is situated) will be your 2nd right. You will be unable to park here however. - Instead, continue along to the end Suikerrui-Oude Koornmarkt. - Take a left, and then another left onto Leeuwenstraat, where pay parking is available. Antwerp Cathedral (200 m) - built in 1351 and never formally completed, this Gothic style cathedral boasts a 123 m spire and significant works by the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens. `Grote Markt` (`Great Market`, 200 m) - A popular square in Antwerp that displays a host of historic and ornate architecture, including several 16th century Guild houses. `Het Steen` (`The Stone`, 300 m) - situated on the banks of the river Schelde, this medieval castle is Antwerp`s oldest building.
