Ubizane Safari Lodge [Apartments]Warm hospitality characterises the relaxed atmosphere of this lodge, offering comfortable traditional African accommodation with views of sweeping valleys and the hills of Ubizane Wildlife Reserve. Your safari experience in this superb destination will include: guided walks in a constantly changing ecosystem which includes a river, fever tree forest, open grassland and ilala palm veldt. Meals are informal affairs around the camp fire, creating a relaxed atmosphere reflecting the beautiful background and natural landscape. However there is a restaurant for when the weather makes it necessary to eat inside and a swimming pool. The majority of the bedrooms in this private reserve are ideal for families and small groups. Defying the rural setting, the accommodation is contemporary and warmly decorated, featuring a homely feeling which is ideal for a stay in such surroundings. Dependent on the weather, meals are served in the Boma, around the camp fire or in the restaurant overlooking the forest and waterhole. Join the rangers after dinner around the camp fire, telling their bush stories and discussing the day’s sightings. The pan-African cuisine offers a variety of buffet-style dishes and usually includes a venison dish. Winter dinners are at 19:00, but in the summer they are at 19:30. The breakfast buffet is available from 07:00 to 10:00 and includes traditional fare, as well as an array of locally grown fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals. Lunch is an informal meal as most guests are out exploring the wonders of the area. It is served from 13:00 until 14:00. For those who prefer to spend the day relaxing beside the swimming pool or with a book in our spacious lounge, a light lunch is available off the room service menu. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 45 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled up to 15 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled up to 1 day before date of arrival, 80 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. One child from 2 to 12 years is charged ZAR 90.00 per night in an extra bed. By Car: From Durban 276 km away: - Proceed on the N2 north past Tongaat, Stanger, Empangeni, Mtubatuba to Hluhluwe. - Take the Hluhluwe/Sodwana Bay exit also signposted Zululand Tree Lodge. - At the top of the off-ramp turn left onto the P453 across the N2 flyover. - Travel a further 2.5 km and you will see the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve’s entrance on your left. From Johannesburg 560 km away: - Proceed on the Witbank N4 freeway towards Middelburg. - At Middelburg take the N11 to Ermelo. - At Ermelo take the R29 to Piet Retief, Pongola to Mkhuze and then Hluhluwe. - Take the Hluhluwe/Sodwana exit. - Then follow the instructions above.
