Loirston Hotel ***There are welcoming log fires in the lounge and a panelled entrance foyer which contribute to the friendly atmosphere found in the hotel. This area has attracted Royalty since Queen Victoria - it would appear that almost every shop in Ballater is by Royal Appointment! The banks of the river Dee, again made famous by the Royal Family for their love of its salmon fishing, make a perfect morning stroll before breakfast. Those who enjoy watching wildlife will not be disappointed as kingfishers and red squirrels, both rare in other parts, are regular visitors to the Dee. This intimate hotel is situated by the Green in Ballater, a most attractive Royal Dee side village. The Loirston is only 8 miles from Balmoral Castle and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Children older than 14 year are considered adult for room occupancy. Children no older than 3 year can stay for free. Reservations must be cancelled one day in advance of your arrival date. In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, an amount equivalent to one night average cost of accommodation will be charged. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. Pet`s are charged at GBP 2.50 per night. Smoking/non smoking rooms are request only basis, they cannot be guaranteed. Cots provided on request. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be a lead at all times and are prohibited from dining areas.
