The Monastery of Pantokrator, built on the mountain-top in 1347, with the labour of people from the 23 villages of the area, was totally ruined in the 16th century. The present church was built in the same place during the late 17th century. Uphill, the Old Perithia is an excellent example of architecture and measure.
