Hotel Schwanstein ***The Hotel Schwanstein is situated in the centre of Schwangau - the village of the Royal Castles near the Gardens, the Tegelberg cable car station and the Royal crystal Thermalbaths We will take care of your refreshments in our 130 seat restaurant. Midday and evening, we offer our guests dishes from national and international cuisine. Tasty Bavarian snacks are available all day. In summer, you can relax in our beer garden under the shade of the chestnut trees, and enjoy a pleasant barbeque. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. Baby cots are not available. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. Arriving from Munich: - Take the A96 motorway towards Starnberg - At the motorway exchange "Starnberg", change to the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Take exit "Sindelsdorf" (9) and continue on the B472 towards Murnau until you reach its end - Turn left onto the B2 towards Murnau - Once in Murnau, take the ST2062 towards Füssen - In Saulgrub, turn right onto the B23 towards Füssen - After the bridge "Eschelsbacher Brücke", turn left onto the ST2059 until you reach Steingaden - In Steingaden, turn left onto the B17 towards Füssen - As you enter Von Schwangau, our hotel is the fourth building on the right-hand side, by the crossing with the road leading to Waltenhofen Arriving from Frankfurt: - Take the A3 until you reach the motorway junction "Biebelried" - Change to the A7 and continue towards Ulm/Kempten - Follow the motorway to its end, towards Füssen - Once in Füssen, continue towards Munich/Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the B17 - Shortly after you have left Füssen, stay on the B17 and pass through the small town of Horn - Continue on the B17 through Schwangau - Just before the end of the town, you will find our hotel on the left-hand side, by the crossing with the road leading to Waltenhofen Arriving from Austria, choose the border crossing at Reutte. Arriving from Switzerland, choose the border crossing Lustenau and then Bregenz. If you are arriving by train, your end destination is the station "Bahnhof Füssen". Behind the railway station you will find taxis which can bring you directly to the hotel for approximately EUR 10. Alternatively you can use bus numbers 78 or 73. Get off in Schwangau at the stop "Rathaus" and walk for 2 minutes towards the hotel, in the direction of Munich. In our area there are lots of sights and activities for the whole familiy: Castle Hohenschwangau - built in the 12th Century as Fort Schwanstein - lies between the Alpsee and Schwansee lakes. It was here that king Ludwig II spent his youth. Between 1869 and 1886, he had Castle Neuschwanstein built. This has become one of the most important sights in germany. About 5 minutes away on foot from the Castle is the Maria Bridge, 90 m above the Pollat Falls, from which one has wonderful views of the Castle, and the 45 m high waterfall. The parking places for the Royal Castles are about 5 minutes by car from our hotel. Since 1969, concerts take place every year in september in the Music Room of Castle Neuschwanstein. These are mostly performances of operas by Richard Wagner. About 5 minutes on foot from the hotel, you will find the Early Barock Church, St. Coloman. Next to the gardens, there is the Royal Crystal Thermal Bath. The sauna area contains five themed saunas, two steam baths and a Turkish bath. You will also find many spa water pools and a precious stone meditation room, with about 10 tonnes of built-in precious stones. You can also spoil yourself with a massage.
