From the A4 motorway coming from Frankfurt/Main:
- Follow the A4 towards Dresden until the Waltershausen exit
- Drive towards Waltershausen
- At the first set of traffic lights (after approx. 300 metres) turn right towards Tabarz
- Follow the main street (approx. 4 km)
- At the second set of traffic lights turn right
- At the ESSO petrol station turn left and follow the main street until you reach a major junction in the town centre
- Go straight across the junction and follow the street for approx. 250 m. The hotel is situated on the right hand side.

From the A4 coming from Hermsdorfer Kreuz/Dresden:
- Follow the A4 towards Frankfurt/Main until the Waltershausen exit
- See above for further directions.

By rail:
- Take the train to Gotha and change on to the `Thueringer Waldbahn`
- From Tabarz station the hotel is a 5-minute walk.

The nearby Lauchagrund region offers numerous hiking paths and the Inselsberg Mountain with an altitude of 916 metres has many ski slopes, lifts and summer toboggan runs.

Visit the Marienglas caves between Tabatz and Friedrichsroda or go on a discovery tour along the Thüringer Klassikerstraße tourist route to see the cities Eisenach, Gotha, Erfurt and Weimar.
