In an idyllic English country location, the luxurious and eco-friendly Ploughman’s Cottage lies in the south of the New Forest region just outside Lymington. A 25-minute walk from the beach, this Victorian property is a family-friendly destination with ready-made dens, a funky shed bedroom and a vintage Gypsy caravan in its pretty gardens.

Spread across 2 floors, the cottage contains 1 en-suite bedroom and 3 further bedrooms, one of which sleeps up to 3 children in its bunk beds and mezzanine roof space (this area is not suitable for young children, as it is quite high). The additional shed bedroom features a four-poster bed, with a wash-stand and kitchenette (this room does not have plumbing).

A fully-equipped kitchen features an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, American-style fridge freezer and crockery and cutlery. The kitchen terrace and veranda are accessed via French doors and provide an ideal spot for al fresco summer breakfasts.

A Bose sound system, iPod dock, and flat-screen TV with DVD player provide entertainment options, while wood-burning stoves and an elegant four-poster bed provide further luxury touches.

The cottage is next door to a recommended local pub, the East End Arms. It’s a 10-minute drive to the Georgian market town of Lymington which also has several restaurants, and a pretty harbour on the Solent.

This property does not accept stag, hen night or similar party bookings. It is based in a quiet residential area and asks that guests respect this. Parties, or loud behaviour between 19:30 and 07:30, will leave guests liable to lose all deposits.
