The Haldon Guest House ***This friendly family- run bed and breakfast is situated 3 minutes’ level walk from Paignton`s sandy beach and town centre, and 5 minutes’ walk from the bus and train station. Catering for families, couples and singles wanting a break in the country, the Haldon Guest House is open all year round for one night stays, weekend breaks and longer stays. It is ideally placed for all that Paignton has to offer, including water-sports and fishing at the harbour. Torbay is known as ` The English Riviera`, which boasts a diversity of atmosphere, entertainment and amenities for all ages, surrounded by scenic countryside. All local produce is used for breakfast. We believe in the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you can be sure that we will not be frugal on quantity or quality. You can select coffee or tea, brown or white toast, a full English breakfast or a variation, and help yourself to cereals, juices, yoghurt and fruit. Breakfast is served daily, in the dining room. If you have any food allergies or special dietary needs please inform the house when booking. There is a choice of restaurants, pubs and takeaways close by. Many couples celebrating a special occasion choose to have a chilled bottle of champagne, chocolates or flowers waiting in their room on check-in. Please contact the guest house with your requirements. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, the first night will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All children under 10 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free public parking is possible at a location nearby. Pets: Pets are not allowed. By Car: - Follow the M5 motorway to Exeter, then the A38 and A380 dual carriageway connection to Newton Abbott. - Head for the seafront, then turn right along the A379 towards Paignton. - Turn left towards Paignton seafront. - Beach Road is located opposite the beach green, after the second set of traffic lights. By Rail: - Paignton train station is 5 minutes walk from the Haldon Guest House. - From the station head towards the seafront. - Turn left at Grand Central Pub, then third right at Beach Road - the guest house is number 6. By Air: - Both Exeter and Plymouth airports are just 40 minutes drive from Paignton. - A taxi service can be arranged. The world-famous Paignton Zoo and Quaywest Water Park are just 20 minutes’ walk away. Also nearby are pitch`n`put, trampolining and Victoria Park where you can enjoy a quiet stroll or jog around the lake. For children, there is a play park, skate park and tennis courts. There is also an Apollo Cinema on the esplanade and Paignton theatre within walking distance. Other local attractions include: Paignton pier; Paignton steam railway; boats and fishing trips; Living coasts in Torquay (known for their penguins); and Goodrington sands with Quaywest Water Park By car you can visit Kents Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones (go back in time), Woodlands Park, Occombe Farm, Cockington and Churston Ferrers, visited by Dame Agatha Christie as a source of inspiration for her books.
