By Car: The White Swan Hotel is situated on the A6108 between Leyburn and Masham. The White Swan is approximately 30 minutes from the A1 at Leeming Bar, using the A684. By Train: The nearest railway station is Northallerton which is a 40 minute drive away. There is a limited local transport/taxi service. The area is steeped in history. The castles of Middleham, Richmond and Castle Bolton are within easy reach, as are Jervaulx and Fountains Abbey. The market town of Leyburn is 10 minute drive away, with Harrogate, Ripon and York all within an hour`s drive. Middleham is a prominent racing town, and is known as the `Newmarket of the North`, with many of the country`s top trainers based in the town.
