Open all year round, the Hotel Auberge de la Sauge offers cosy rooms and a restaurant only 50 metres from the ASPO Nature Centre in Cudrefin.

Our 500-year-old building has been completely restored and offers a wonderful setting to dine close to nature. The 12-room hotel is an ideal base for excursions in the 3-lakes area, exceptional for its natural and cultural sites. On our grounds we cultivate biological products and work to improve our agricultural biodiversity. Scottish highland cattle are bred on our lands for the upkeep of the marshlands.

The restaurant is open all year round for dinner or bar guests. Our 500-year-old building offers a wonderful setting to dine close to nature. The menu offers a wide range of options large choice for all tastes and budgets.

By public transport:

By boat from Neuchatel, Biel or Morat. Disembark at La Sauge. The hotel is 50 metres from the Nature Centre. Bicycle transport is free on all boats (except those from Biel). Bicycle rental is possible in Neuchatel.

By train on the Neuchatel-Berne or Biel-Ins lines. Get off at Ins. La Sauge is a 20-minute bus ride from Ins train station. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the bus service Ins-La Sauge-Cudrefin must be reserved by phone one hour in advance.

The ASPO Nature Centre in the Sauge, between Ins and Cudrefin, is next to Switzerland’s 2 most important bird sanctuaries: the Chablais de Cudrefin and Fanel, in the Grand Cariçaie, on Lake Neuchâtel’s south-eastern shores.

The Nature Centre has a permanent exhibition on the Grand Cariçaie, temporary exhibitions, an ecology laboratory, multimedia shows and an outdoor trail (500 metres) with 3 hides for unobtrusive wildlife observation.
