Located in the immediate vicinity of the Main Bus and Railway Station and 700 metres from the city centre, the old military barracks provides a unique accommodation experience, sleeping in one of 20 former prison cells with bars on the door and on the windows.

Most of them has been artistically renovated in 2003 into comfortable and one-of-a-kind double and triple rooms with shared bathroom, other multi-bedded rooms are comfort ensuite rooms. The renovation process was supervised by more than 80 Slovenian and foreign artists.

The bar & restaurant area welcomes guests in three different theme areas with a buffet breakfast, daily lunches and delicious snacks. The Celica Hostel houses a wide range of entertainment and cultural activities. Free live concerts, all-you-can-eat evening events, art exhibitions, lectures, poetry readings, workshops…

There are 3 theme areas in the bar and restaurant: an Oriental Café, a Cyber Café and a Slovenian Gostilna in the centre of the building.

The bar is open from 07:30 to 00:00 (01:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays) and it serves local and imported drinks, cocktails and hookahs.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 22:00. Lunches, traditional Slovene specialities, tasty big sandwiches, fish and chips, pizza and other meals are served to hostel guests, local students and visitors.

Hostel Celica offers a lively cultural life. Every Tuesday night a concert followed by a jam session welcomes international musicians.

The hostel`s art gallery Srecisce on the ground floor regularly hosts international art exhibitions. Additionally, the cultural programme includes workshops, poetry readings, debates and presentations on various themes from literature, philosophy, music to nature, aesthetics and history.

Every day at 14:00 a free guided tour of the hostel takes place.

The hostels ground floor, apart from the Oriental Café, is wheelchair-friendly.
