Amangwane Kosi Bay [Апартаменты]

These eco-friendly reed chalets are located in bushland near Kosi Bay beach and estuary in Kwa-Zulu Natal province. They offer tent-like accommodation with private bathroom and terrace. There are kitchen facilities for preparing meals.

Each chalet has solar-powered lighting and hot water but no electricity. Mosquito nets are provided on request.There are views of the surrounding wetlands.

Guests can enjoy local specialities from the shaded restaurant or sit around a camp fire and barbecue at night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available.

Staff can help arrange some unique tours of the surrounding area such as sea kayaking in Kosi Bay or observing Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles on the beach.

The border with Mozambique is a 4.5 km drive away. Tembe Elephant Reserve is 62 km away by car.

From Johannesburg:

- Take the N2 south as far as Hluhluwe.
- Turn left on the R22. Continue past Hluhluwe town and follow the signs for Sodwana Bay.
- At the town of Mbazwana do not turn off to Sodwana Bay but follow signs for Kosi Bay and Farazela border.
- Drive towards the southernmost border between South Africa and Mozambique, after KwaNgwanase.
- Just before you come to the border (about 10 minutes out of town) there is a graded road to the right (the only one in the vicinity) with a sign post for Utshwayelo campsite. (If you hit the border you`ve gone too far, turn back less than a kilometre.)
- Follow that road for 3.5 km. There are some unmarked speed bumps along this road which are difficult to spot, so we recommend driving slowly.
- Amangwane is on the right (look for the sign).

From Durban or Richards Bay:

- Take the N2 north.
- Turn off at the Hluhluwe / Sodwana turn off.
- At the town of Mbazwana do not turn off to Sodwana Bay but follow signs for Kosi Bay and Farazela border.
- Drive towards the southernmost border between South Africa and Mozambique, after KwaNgwanase.
