The Longlands remains fiercely independent with no brewery or theme-pub chain to tell us how to run things. This means that we can choose the very best beers and wines for our bar, the freshest ingredients for our menus and individual furnishings for each of our rooms.

We are lucky enough to be right next to Tewitfield Locks on the Lancaster Canal, at the edge of a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Just a mile from junction 35 of the M6 motorway, we are perfectly placed for days out to the Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, the seaside at Morecambe, and the historic city of Lancaster.

The restaurant is Longlands` pride and joy. As you would expect, as much as possible is sourced locally and luckily Burrows of Sliverdale and Port of Lancaster Smokehouse are found nearby, to name a few local champions. Everybody is welcome - large groups, children, romantic twosomes and people eating alone. The menu changes seasonally and there are fresh market specials everyday .

Dogs are admitted for an extra cost of GBP 10 per night. Pets must be well behaved and bring their own beds. Only one pet allowed per booking.

The Longlands is near to Tewitfield Locks on the Lancaster Canal being just a mile away from junction 35a on the M6. We are ideally placed for trips out to the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, the seaside of Morecambe and the historic city of Lancaster.
We are close to two of Englands finest country houses - Leighton Hall & Levens Hall. Kirkby Lonsdale is only seven miles away where there are plenty of tea shops & craft shops to while away your afternoon. There are also a number of fisheries close by & approximately 10 golf courses within a 30 mile radius.
