In the foothills of the magnificent Mendips, Cheddar is a quiet village, famous for its splendid surroundings, including the caves, Cheddar Gorge and other attractions. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the village itself, within walking distance, and if it is refreshing tranquillity you are looking for, then the village of Cheddar is ideal.

There is also plenty to see and do in the surrounding area and the region is great for walking, cycling, fishing, shooting, sailing and golf (both crazy and otherwise!)

The nearby cities and towns of the South West are within an hour’s drive, including Glastonbury, Street, Weston-Super-Mare and Taunton. Further afield, you might also like to explore Wells, Bristol, Yeovil and Bath. For the more adventurous, the North Devon coastline is about 2 hours’ drive away and Poole and Bournemouth on the Dorset coast are also a similar distance from the bed and breakfast.

Local attractions include Longleat House and Safari Park (one hour), Monkey World (1.5 hours), Clarks Village (30 minutes), Butlins Minehead (1.5 hours), the Fleet Air Arm Museum (about 1 hour), Wookey Hole and Caves (15 minutes), the Helicopter Museum (20 minutes) and the Bath and West Showground (45 minutes).
