The Central Hotel [Apartments]


This family-run hotel is set in one of the oldest market towns in North Wales. Set in the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains, it is an ideal centre for fell walking, fishing, cycling or just touring North Wales.

Accommodation is clean and comfortable and you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from all our staff.

Built in the 17th century as a temperance inn, it became one of the main coaching stop overs on the road from London to Holyhead. It remained a temperance hotel until 1950s when it changed from The Feathers Temperance Hotel to the now Central Hotel. The building is in common with other buildings in the square and is a grade 2 listed.

Visit our Central Cafe which provides all kinds of meals from take away to home cooked meals. All our food is freshly prepared when you order. All our deserts and cakes are home made on the premises.

An evening meal is available upon request from our excellent menu.

Children older than 14 year are considered adult for room occupancy.
Children no older than 3 year can stay for free.


Breakfast is served from 08:00 until 17:00.
Lunch is served from 11:00 until 17:00.
Dinner is served from 18:00 until 21:00.


Reservations must be cancelled one day in advance of your arrival date.
In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, an amount equivalent to one night average cost of accommodation will be charged.
The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

If travelling from the North follow the A483 from Chester to Wrexham.
At Wrexham take the A525 towards Ruthin. At the village of Llandegla turn left onto the A5104 for Corwen and Bala. Turn left at A5 to Corwen. The Hotel is on the left as you enter the square. For hotel car park, turn left at the statue of Owain Glyndwr and the car park is on your left.

If travelling from the Midlands or South follow the M54 and then the A5. You will pass Shrewsbury and Oswestry and then head for Llangollen. Stay on the A5 for 10 miles and you will come to the market town of Corwen.

The Central Hotel is on the right as you enter the square just past the statue of Owain Glyndwr. For hotel car park, turn right at statue of Owain Glyndwr and the car park is on your left.


Corwen is situated in the Berwyn Foothills of North Wales on the banks of the River Dee. It is one of the oldest market towns in Wales and is commonly known as the Crossroads to North Wales. Ideally situated for many of the attractions to be found in North Wales from seaside to countryside. With spectacular scenery in all seasons from the brightness of summer to the changing colours of autumn and the brilliant white of winter. The Snowdonia National Park is only half an hours drive away. Visit the many slate mines and copper mines in the area. There are many walks in the area from gentle to mountainous which ever suits you.

The building is grade 2 listed, was built in the 17th Century and was a rareity then as a Temperance Hotel. Originally a coaching Inn on the route from London to Holyhead. Named The Feathers Temperance Hotel, it remained a Temperance Hotel until 1950`s. It was used as a local Snooker Hall and when it was converted to what is now The Central Hotel, 18 full sized snooker tables were removed from the premises. It was also the local place to attend Tea Dances in the Tudor Room of the Hotel in the 40`s/50`s.
